Gathering of Players

Hans de Goede, Les Underwood and I would like to invite players, administrators and supporters (1973-83) to the JBAA Clubhouse, for a 50 year celebration of James Bay’s Golden Decade of Rugby, on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

That group played in 10 BC Championships (won 8), and 10 Island Championships (won 10). Truly the greatest era of JBAA, BC and Canadian club rugby.

Hans, Les and I ask you to gather this April 1 for the following four reasons:

  1. To celebrate our success and renew old friendships.
Relive some memories and to maybe meet one last time before we watch JBAA from the Upper Deck.

There will not be a 75th reunion !

  2. To honour the Greatest Rugby Club Coach in Canadian history: Tillman Briggs.
How?   Open Mic post dinner . One Till story will be tolerate per speaker. Dinner buns will be at every table.

  3. To remember the Bays who are already seated in the Upper Deck.
How?  From Jack Reid and Ed Barlow to Chuck Shergold and Drew Dennison. Their names will be spoken and toasted.

  4. To raise money to complete our Clubhouse renovation.
    How ?

    1. $100 covers your food and drink.

    2. Every extra $100 will go to our Reno and give you a chance to win 1K in our post dinner draw.

    3. For example $100 covers dinner/drinks, or $200 D/D plus a draw ticket, or $500 covers D/D plus 4 draw tickets

If you wish to join our gathering,  email a Huddy Huddy to alumni@jbaa.ca or click the button.
