JBAA and the BCRU Vaccination Mandate

UPDATE: Added a link to the manual Consent form - see button below

UPDATE: Added a link to the PDF guide - see button below

The BCRU, following a mandate set by Rugby Canada, have introduced the requirement for all players and coaches, all ages 12 and up, to be vaccinated and to provide proof of vaccination in order to play rugby. Your proof of double vaccination must be provided by October 27th, 2021.

If you are not vaccinated, or have not provided your proof of vaccination by this time then you will be unable to play in any games and your registration will be flagged as ‘inactive’ in Sportlomo, until such time as you can verify you have been fully vaccinated. If you are hoping to get an exemption to this rule you must contact BCRU.

This is NOT A JBAA POLICY. We are required to follow the mandates set out by the BCRU.

Instructions on how to consent and submit your vaccination record via Sportlomo are available on the BCRU website. PLEASE READ. Some of our members have already done this successfully (and we thank you for being on top of this new requirement).

If you cannot, or are unable to, upload your proof of vaccination via Sportlomo then Melea - our Covid-19 Safety Officer - and our team of volunteer trainers will be available on the following dates, times, locations to scan your vaccination passport and verify your ID to complete your proof. To use this option you must download, print and complete the manual consent form (button is below).

  • 24-OCT - MacDonald Park - 11:30 am - 4:00 pm

  • 26-OCT - Royal Athletic Park - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

  • 27-OCT - Royal Athletic Park - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

  • 28-OCT - Clubhouse - 7:30 - 9:00 pm

  • 30-OCT - MacDonald Park before the Senior Men’s game

  • 31-OCT - MacDonald Park - 10:00 am - 11:00 am

If you encounter any issues with Sportlomo then please contact our Registrar, Krista, by email and she can assist you, or get support from BCRU.

Club President, John de Goede, will be available, at the club house on Thursday, October 28th if anyone has concerns or complaints about the BCRU requirement for proof of vaccination.

There is a last resort to verify your vaccination status, if for some reason you have not been able to update Sportlomo by the deadline, which is to present your proof of vaccination on game day, before every game. We would prefer people use Sportlomo as that will make it easier on our volunteers.
