JBAA Premier Mens team fought back from 17-12 down at halftime to defend the Gerwing Challenge Shield and a 25-24 victory over Westshore in an interesting encounter at MacDonald Park on Saturday afternoon.
It has been a while since both of our senior men’s teams recorded victories against Castaway Wanderers while playing away from MacDonald Park, but we did it yesterday when our Premier Reserves notched a 31-19 win followed by our Prems ‘thumping’ of CW by a 20-19 margin.

It is that time of year again and again JBAA has been given the opportunity to make some $$$ by volunteering our time doing after hours security at Ribfest 2022, happening September 9th - 11th.
Many of our junior players have had a busy summer between playing for TIDE and representing BC as part of the BC Bears. These players have come through our youth program and we are so proud of their success.
It all starts with an idea, a vision, and club member and long time Bay, Glenn Barlow, certainly came through with a winner in the form of a community event that featured spot prawns, fiddle music, and rugby.

We have added an event to our calendar that we are quite excited about: The 1st Annual Spot Prawn and Fiddle Fest to be held all day on Sunday, June 12th at MacDonald Park.
Last Saturday, after the long trek up island to Cumberland, our Women’s team revisted the pitch where our season started, against a team that beat us in our first game as part of our newly re-formed senior women’s program.
Our ever-improving Premier team lead the UVic Vikings by a score of 16-11 with no time remaining on the clock when the home team scored to steal the win on the last play of the game.
